I tried to post this in the Forum, but I don't think it posted right. So anyway, here's a recipe for ya!
Oven Ribs
I love smoked meat. I never liked it as a kid, but for some reason over the past four years I'm all about it. When my beloved and I smoke meat, it's always a team effort. Which I love. I make the rub and rub the meat and then he throws it on the smoker and tends to it. We usually only bust out the smoker, however, when we are having a get-together or just want to smoke a lot of meat to freeze for later or something. So what do we do when we want some barbecue but don't want to drag out the smoker and do all the prepwork? I cook the ribs in the oven. It's just the two of us here, so that happens most of the time. This way of cooking ribs is the easiest method I've ever seen. There isn't a lot of prep and there aren't a ton of steps. Once you get them in the oven, you can literally forget about them (as long as you set a timer). I promise you these will be just as good (if not better) than ribs you get at a restaurant, and they come out perfect every time. Oven Ribs 1-2 slabs of baby back ribs (depending on how many people you're feeding) Rub--use your favorite store-bought or make your own. I make my own. Let me know if you want the recipe for it. One medium or One large sized dutch oven (again, depends on many slabs you're doing) Your favorite barbecue sauce. 1. Take your slabs of ribs and cut them into three portions. 2. Rub and pat them all over with your rub. Let the rub set and soak in a little bit, at least an hour. The longer the better though. 3. Place the sections on their sides inside the dutch oven. 4. Sprinkle a small amount of barbecue sauce on each section, patting them on meat lightly. Don't give your rub the rub. You also don't need a lot of sauce at this point. 5. Cover and place in a 300 degree oven and let bake for 4 HOURS. I'll tell you that you don't even need to preheat. 6. After 4 hours, take the dutch oven out and CAREFULLY take the rib sections out with tongs and place them on a baking sheet. Be very careful. They will be extremely tender and want to fall off the bone. Turn your oven to BROIL. 7. Spoon or brush your barbecue sauce on each section and place back in the oven and broil until the sauce is baked in and caramelized on the ribs. This step is to YOUR liking. You don't even have to do it if you don't want to. I recommend it though. I personally do not like super wet ribs. I like the sauce baked in a little. DO NOT LEAVE THE OVEN WHILE BROILING. YOU WILL BURN THE RIBS. THIS STEP ONLY TAKES A MINUTE OR TWO. That's it! That's literally it! By the way, this meat is also wonderful the next day in eggs for breakfast, in macaroni n cheese, or with mashed potatoes and a vegetable, etc. Try this at home IMMEDIATELY. LOL!
